Hi, friends! As some of you may know, for the last 10ish months, I’ve been working on another cookbook! It’s called Plant-Forward Keto, and it’s a bit of a continuation and expansion on my first cookbook (Vegan Keto).
Over the years, I’ve received so much feedback from awesome people on social media and in my email, looking for ways to make ketogenic diets more sustainable and enjoyable in the long run, as well as more accessible to the whole family. I know how challenging it is to have to try and make one meal to satisfy a whole host of very diverse eaters, especially when there are many different eaters in one household. While I eat a vegan, gluten-free and ketogenic diet, my husband is a flexitarian who loves gluten- and carb-filled foods. So, finding meals that work for both of us can be a challenge! This book aims to bridge the gap by providing recipes everyone can eat, as well as entree “base recipes” that work with many different protein options presented. That way you can make one main meal with a couple of proteins to make everyone at the dinner table happy.

Like in my first book, I also made sure to be extra conscious of food allergies, providing many allergen-free recipes as well as substitution options where allergens may be used. The recipe breakdown is as follows:
- 78 completely gluten-free and vegan keto recipes (10 breakfasts, 10 soups/salads, 15 entrees, 7 proteins, 18 sides and small bites, 8 desserts and 9 condiments – plus multiple variations for many of the recipes)
- 8 additional animal-based protein recipes by Launie Kettler
- Two 4-week meal plans with shopping lists and notes
- Food lists, shopping guides and tips to make transitioning to a plant-based keto diet as simple as possible.
- 80+ pages of information about how to add more balance and variety to plant-based ketogenic diets as well as how to make this way of eating more sustainable for you in the long run.
Of the 78 recipes I wrote for this book, the allergen breakdown is as follows (all 78 are gluten-free, egg-free and dairy-free):
- 54 coconut-free recipes
- 62 nut-free recipes
- 73 peanut-free recipes
- 58 soy-free recipes
This book has been such a beautiful collaboration, and I’m not just talking about the editors, designers, marketing geniuses and cookbook experts at my publisher Victory Belt. In the spirit of encouraging people from all dietary backgrounds to eat more plants (especially on ketogenic and low carb diets!), super-talented recipe developer Launie Kettler from Teeny Tiny Kitchen (and co-author of The Everything Mediterranean Slow Cooker Cookbook) contributed 8 non-vegan protein recipes in addition to the vegan ones I’ve created so that the whole family can eat the same meal and choose whichever protein they would like.
I’m so, so excited about this book! I posted some pics of the covers and table of contents to instagram (see below) as well as some recipes. I’ll also be continuing to share recipes here on this blog, as well as on my instagram and tiktok pages! I love talking about this book, so if you have any questions – drop them in the comments below. I’m more than happy to answer any questions!
